About Josh

I taught myself to code at nine on the family’s first computer, and I’ve been building things for people ever since — through a MySpace-era startup, a mobile-platform company I co-founded and sold, six years shipping financial apps at Transamerica, and engineering-director roles where I learned what teams can do when someone protects their focus (and what burnout does when no one does).
Along the way I founded and sold four companies — Mobilesalt, ROAR, BuzzedApps, and Mailbox Legends — served hundreds of clients building custom mobile apps, and picked up a patent.
I’ve been the founder, the CTO, the director, and the guy staring at the ceiling at 2 AM. These days my work spans AI and technology leadership across the spectrum — plus Apothix Digital, the studio where my products and client work live, and writing about how technology and humans can be good for each other. Different chapters, same job: build the system that unleashes the person. (It took me twenty years and a few burnouts to notice that’s what I’d been doing all along.)
At home I’m a husband and a dad in upstate New York, with a couple of dogs underfoot. The poster behind my desk is from The X-Files.
